So, here we are, back with the wonderful Kenana Knitter group! It's not quite as busy as usual as many of the knitters are still at home preparing and working their shambas (farm plots). But they are still super busy with orders going to Europe, USA and of course, Australia.
Today I will be visiting one of the spinners in her home to see a bit more of that side of things. Yesterday afternoon I spent about an hour with some of the ladies, chatting about family and life in general. They are such an inspiring group of women. They tell me that they don't have holidays, they just work all the year, either in the home, shamba or knitting. Life is a struggle here for rural women and the best thing we can do is to sell their products and share their stories. It is indeed a privilege.
By the way, our stand location is now in the EXHIBITION HALL at the showground. We are in Stand EN4. More on that later!
Until next time....
